About

I received the M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2013, with the thesis on “Dynamic Tool Compensation in a Bilateral Telemanipulation System for Neurosurgery”.
Afterwards, my interest in research and development of new technologies motivated me to pursue the Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano, carrying out the research at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), in the Biomedical Robotics Lab, Advanced Robotics Department, in Genoa. My main research topic was the development of an enhanced vision system to improve safety in robotic minimally invasive surgery. This study involved dense 3D reconstruction of surgical scenes and long-term tissue motion tracking.
Currently, I am a Postdoc Researcher at the Computer Vision and Pattern Analysis (PAVIS) Department at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, working on automatic visual inspection in the context of highly efficient industrial applications.
